And now for some rules...

1. Download the remix parts to 'Safe For The Time Being'. You can download free mp3-encoded parts here. Or if you want full-quality wav files, there is a premium package available here for $2.00 which covers the cost of payloadz (buying files with your paypal accountl) hosting the files. We are looking for originality, so you can very easily win this competition by only using the free parts. We will be mastering the winning remix to the highest quality possible, so don't stress about it.
2. Remix the track! (The song is currently at 117 bpm)
3. Upload your remix to your public profile on Myspace. Clearly state "Mason Proper Remix Contest" in the song title.
4. Email us a link to your profile featuring the remix to masonproper.remix@gmail.com.
5. VOTING: Ending at noon, EST, on September 30, 2008, TEN remixes which have accumulated the most plays will be reviewed and judged by Mason Proper. The band's choices for the THREE most original/best remixes will be hosted on Mason Proper's Myspace page starting noon, EST, on October 1, 2008. On Tuesday, October 14, at noon EST, the remix which has the most plays on Mason Proper's Myspace page will win the competition.
6. PRIZE PACKAGE: The winner will win $333. The winning remix will also be included in an iTunes remix EP the band will release in the first quarter of 2009
7. Please do not use uncleared samples. We will have to disqualify any entries which use uncleared samples. If it gets us in trouble, we'll have to pass on to you any legal costs if we are sued.
8. All remixes submitted for this contest become the legal property of Dovecote Records LLC.
9. All trademarks and logos are protected. All rights of the producer and the owner of the recorded work are reserved. Unauthorized copying, hiring, renting, public performance and broadcasting of this record, remix or remix parts is prohibited.
10. You may upload your remix to Myspace and other online sites but it must be clearly named as a 'Mason Proper Remix Contest Entry." You may not sell or release the remix for ANY compensation whatsoever.
